For breathtaking visuals and seamless camera work, the award for best cinematography goes to…our ATI case study.

It lifted the curtain on the big innovations propelling the aerospace industry forward.

From director Jamie: ‘I directed the shots to make the best use of the space. How often do you get to film in an aircraft hangar?! We went for extremes. Lots of ultra-wide shots, even in the interviews, along with symmetry and negative space.’

For authenticity with a dose of nostalgia, the award for best storytelling goes to… our NAFCO (North Atlantic Fishing Company) brand film.

Good storytelling never goes out of style. NAFCO’s brand film brought their sustainability messaging to life with a story that celebrated 40 years in the fishing industry, drawing on personal accounts and archive footage from those who live and work in the thick of it.

We interviewed their experts, filmed in maritime locations, and cast Hull Sea Cadets in a starring role. We even got on board a NAFCO fishing boat to capture life on board – our DOP using an easy rig for his FX6 camera to get in on the action, and unleashing a drone for some spectacular shots.

For a true team effort, this award goes to…DHL Express.

We created an 8-bit-game-style internal comms video that hit all the right notes.

Our scriptwriter put together a playful script, working closely with DHL to develop a story that felt fresh but grounded in the ‘real’ DHL world. Our designers then created each layer of animation – from DHL environments and vehicles to a cheeky cameo from the brand’s CEO.

"I enjoyed the process with you a lot – you got what we are about within weeks and that’s rare!”

Janine Langlotz, Global Head of Internal Communications, DHL Express

Producers: Sian Evans, Rebecca Rappaport
Writer: Chris Lawes
Designers: Emma Strydom, Arshad Peters and Justin Lawrence

For results that speak for themselves, the Viewer’s Choice award goes to…FSC.

A long-standing video client, we chose FSC for this category not, for a single film, but a collection of videos we made for them this year. Their Head of Brand Marketing loved the quality and attention to detail of the work we produced so much that she’s now got briefs for our Design, PR and Language teams too.

Here are a few of the videos we’ve made for them:

Head of Video: Sian Evans
Producers: Grace Dunsby and Rebecca Rappaport
Initial animation development: Arshad Peters
Designers: Justin Lawrence and Emma Strydom

We’re giving this one to our promo for Wiley. It’s proof that you don’t need a feature-length film to make a big impact. This video packs a punch in just a few minutes, showing that sometimes, less really is more.

The award for best animation goes to…our work with Google.

The challenge is always explaining complex concepts in a simple, eye-catching way – which we’ve done with a bunch of animations that break down the topic into something anyone can understand.
